"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."
-George S. Patton, U.S. Army General, 1912 Olympian

Today was 4

I ran four miles today.
I was pretty upset when I could not find the first mile mark. I looked at my watch around the time I usually see it and it was around 8 minutes and 50 seconds. So I decided not to let this get me discouraged because I knew I was going a pretty good pace. I got to mile 2 at 18.40.37, so I am only estimating the pace of the first two miles, since I couldn't see the mark and push the lap button.

Mile 1 = roughly 9 minutes
Mile 2 = roughly 9.40.
Mile 3 = 9.09.08
Mile 4 = 8.48.58!
Total time = 36.38.03

So I averaged about 9:09 miles!

I was very please with the overall time. This is a 4 mile record for me. I cut almost two minutes off of my last 4 mile time.
When I got home, I stretched and then I went to cross off my miles on my calendar. Then I realized, today I was not even supposed to run! I was supposed to run 4 tomorrow!
