"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."
-George S. Patton, U.S. Army General, 1912 Olympian

Hanging up the running shoes...

...at least for a little while.
Last night, after I got home from my tearful run, I talked with Trav about it, and I talked with my mom this morning and we think it is probably best if I just take a little break. My sister just recently had surgery on her knee, my dad needs surgery, and so does my brother. So...for all I know, this could be genetic and I could have it too. What my sister has (knee plica syndrome?), you are born with and it gets inflamed from running. After she got it removed it was fine. So, I am hoping it is not that I need surgery and that it is something that some rest can fix. I really want to be able to at least run this one half marathon so I am going to pray for an easy fix. I will keep riding my bike and trying to do cross training though so I don't get too out of shape. We will see how long I can last.
